Satsuma Plate
Large round plate. Eggshell coloured
ceramic with a fine crackled, transparent glaze.
Decor skilfully painted in detail
with different colours and gold, partly with
relief painting. On a background with white
chrysanthemum blossoms, clouds and banners are
two gilden framed squares:
one with ladies and playing children
in front of a house and one with a noble man
surrounded by ladies and children in front of
a landscape. Edged with a small ornamental border.
