Asakura Yoshikage was a great lord (daimyo) of
Echizen. He was in residence at the castle of Ichijo-ga-tani. Many years he
fought, together with Asai Nagamasa (Nº 7), against Oda Nobunaga, but he was
overthrown by Nobunaga at the battle of the Anegawa (1573).
