Perfect impression with excellent colours, well visible wooden grain and glossy overperint at the eagle's claws, relief printing in the title cartouche. First state. Margins neatly replaced, minor creases at lower part.

This view is one of the most dramatic designs of the series. Its appeal lies in the contrast between the powerful form of the eagle as it prepares to dive for prey and the desolate wintry marshes below.
