Kimekomi royal court with the
original palace and all the equipment for
the Hina-Matsuri
Lovingly worked out Kimekomi
royal court with 15 dolls: emperor and empress, three
ladies of the court, five musicians, two guards
(generals), three servants, and equipment with food, lacquered tables, plants,
lanterns (electrified). All persons are dressed
in the traditionel, classical, and coloured
brocade robes of the Heian period. All the silk
and brocade cloths had been fixed onto
the modelled bodies very carefully. The very
fine modelled, bright gofun heads have individual
faces, partly with open mouths and dimples on
the chin. The palace, an elegant show case,
is partly glazed or covered with brocade,
both sides are made of keyaki-wood. Tokyo, Taishô
